Henry W. Keur's Obituary
Mr. Henry W. Keur, age 95, went to be with his Lord Sunday morning, August 22, 2010, at his home. He was born on January 7, 1915 to Sam and Dora (Wester) Keur in Muskegon and was a life resident of the area. Henry was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church where he has been very active over the years. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mr. Keur served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of D.A.V. Wood-Tazelaar Post 11. Prior to his retirement, in 1977, he had worked 30 years as a Highway Superintendent for Muskegon Township Highway Dept. On September 26, 1942 he married Hope E. Drent and she survives him along with 1 son, Jon (Ellyn) Keur of Grand Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Dan (Kelly) Keur, Dora (Robert) Scholten, David (Jayne) Keur, Andrew Keur and Kayla Keur and 6 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jake, and Trevor Keur, William and Nathan Scholten, and Blake Riley Keur. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Winifred Clark, Ann Harris and Marguerite Meyers. SERVICES will be 11 AM Wednesday at Fellowship Reformed Church (4200 Apple Ave.) with Pastor Greg VanderMeer officiating. VISITATION with Henry’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday at the The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210). Burial will be in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider Fellowship Reformed Church.
