Henry W. Van Hall's Obituary
Henry W. Van Hall, age 80, of Grand Haven passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at a local care facility. He was born March 16, 1930, in Spring Lake to Arthur and Kathryn (Bishop) Van Hall, and he married the former Lillie E. McCarty on December 29, 1950, in Spring Lake.
Mr. Van Hall was a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities area and had been employed by AP Parts in Grand Haven for 30 years. Henry served his country in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War and earned a Bachelors degree in accounting from Baker College. He enjoyed his family, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren immensely. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Hope Reformed Church, where he had previously served as deacon, elder, and Sunday School teacher. He was a former trustee of the Board of Directors for North Ottawa Community Hospital and a former president of the union at AP Parts for several years.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lillie; two daughters, Denise (Eric) Edelmayer and Kimber (Nate) Glenn; a son, Russ (Fran) Van Hall; eight grandchildren: Evan, Elyse, Mallory, Morgan, Kellie, Philip, Elliot, and Joshua (Ana) Vick; three great-grandchildren: Jordyn, Sadie, and Erllee; two sisters, Barb Wildey of Spring Lake and Beatrice “Sis” Paauwe of Holland; and a brother, Chuck (Marilyn) Van Hall of Grand Haven. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marge Bunker; two brothers, Arthur Van Hall, Jr. and Jack Van Hall; and a grandson, Christopher Glenn.
Friends may meet the family 3-5 PM Sunday, June 27, 2010, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. A private graveside service will be held. Military rites will be provided by the U.S. Air Force National Guard. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Hospice of North Ottawa Community are appreciated.
