Herbert E. Kops' Obituary
Mr. Herbert E. Kops, age 78, died Wednesday morning, December 20, 2006. He was born April 15, 1928 in Muskegon to Albert and Ida (Kollack) Kops and had been a life resident of the area. From 1946-1949 he served in the U.S. Air Force. He attended Western Michigan University and graduated with a teaching degree. Mr. Kops worked as a teacher for the Muskegon Public School system for 2 years, was a respiratory therapist for both Hackley and Mercy Hospitals for 1 year, and had also worked for American Coil Springs Company for over 20 years. On September 9, 1950, he married the former Shirley Popelar in Muskegon and she survives him along with 2 sons, Herbert Blair (Mary) Kops of Jackson, MI, Rick Alan (Cathy) Kops of Kendallville, IN; 4 grandchildren, Eric, Ryan, Kristin, Mitchell; and a sister, Ruth (Leslie) Martin of Grand Haven. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Florence Batten. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday at
