Herman Frederick "Fritz" Tetzlaff's Obituary
Mr. Herman Frederick “Fritz” Tetzlaff, age 97, passed away Friday morning, May 20, 2005 at a local hospital. He was born March 18, 1908 in Bear Lake (Manistee County), Michigan to Herman and Pearl Tetzlaff and his family moved to the Muskegon area in 1918. He married the former Audrey Louise Gregory on November 13, 1945 and she preceded him in death on September 17, 1981. Before retirement in 1975, Fritz was employed at Smith Meat Packing Co. He was a veteran on the U.S. Army having served during World War II in Africa, Italy and France. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and was also active with the Casablanca Club. SURVIVORS include one sister, Mae Liefer, and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Phillip A. Sliwinski presiding. INTERMENT will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be held 7-9 PM Sunday and 7-9 PM Monday at Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210. The Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 PM Monday evening. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church Memorial Fund.
