Mrs. Hermie Louise DeBoer's Obituary
Mrs. Hermie L. DeBoer, age 91, passed away on July 23, 2016 at the Heartwood Lodge in Spring Lake, MI. She was born on December 9, 1924 on the family farm in Missouri to Adam and Lillian Laumann. After meeting Frank DeBoer while he was serving in the Army, Hermie moved to Muskegon and married him on March 1, 1947. They spent almost 64 years together. She worked as a clerk for Younkers Supply for 22 years. She loved genealogy, bingo, gardening, knitting and crocheting. Most of all, she loved being with her family and enjoyed seeing her grandchildren. She was a very dedicated wife and mother. Survivors include her daughters, Sandy (Bryan) Bytwerk, Colorado Springs, CO, and Debra VanDyke, Stillman Valley, IL; her sisters, Donna Shineflew, Rockport, MO and Maxine (Bill) Lang, Tarkio, MO; sons-in-law, Leslie Bull, Casnovia, MI and Joseph Cooper, Allendale, MI; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughters, Linda Bull and Marcia Cooper; her sister, Lola Fast; and son-in-law, William VanDyke. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 29,2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. VISITATION will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
