Hermina Simmons' Obituary
Hermina Simmons, age 87, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. She was born on October 20, 1935 to Derk and Trena (Rose) Winter in Muskegon. Hermina was a member of Fellowship Church and attended Fifth Reformed Church. She worked as a teachers aid for Orchard View Schools and later for Wesley Schools in Muskegon. Hermina enjoyed camping with her family early on and spent over 20 years wintering in Texas with her husband, Wilbur. On October 24, 1964, she married, Wilbur A. “Bill” Simmons in Muskegon and he preceded her in death in 2020. SURVIVORS include 3 children; Steve (Judy) Simmons, Mark Simmons, Teresa (Shelly) Schooley; step-son, Jeff (Robin) Simmons; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM on March 16, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS can be directed to Crockery Creek Elder Care.
