Hertha F. Hill's Obituary
Mrs. Hertha F. Hill of Spring Lake, age 90, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015. She was born on February 5, 1925 in Weisbaden, Germany to William and Bertha (Rolfe) Weidenfeller.
Hertha was a member of Grand Haven Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where she was the former church treasurer, head deaconess, and also taught Sabbath School. She also liked to craft, crochet and shop. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Hertha worked for the Ottawa County Register of Deeds and also for Ottawa County Friend of the Court as an account clerk.
On December 15, 1945 she married Thomas Hill in Grand Rapids, and he survives her along with their 3 children: Linda (Leonard) DeYoung of Three Rivers, Michael (Terry) Hill of South Haven, and Kenneth (Christal) Hill of Nunica; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; sisters-in-law, Ginny Weindenfeller and Amy Hill, and several nieces and nephews. Hertha was preceded in death by a grandson; and her brother, Herbert Weidenfeller.
Funeral Services will be 11AM Monday, August 3, 2015 at Grand Haven Seventh-Day Adventist Church (15051 177th St. Grand Haven, MI 49417) with Pastor Jarod Thomas officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Sunday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home, 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417. Burial will take place in Spring Lake Cemetery.
