Sending love and prayers for strength during this time of sorrow. Jean Carey was a wonderful, kind and amazing woman. Jean was my mother's best friend. She always treated me as one of her own as she did of many of the neighborhood kids. I have known Jean since Pre-K. I remember playing board games with her son in their home when Jean and my mother would be getting their hair done by her daughter. When I did get a little older Jean and my mom would always let me play pool free at the Seaway Bar (even giving me tips to better my pool skills). As i reached my teen years She always gave me a ride to school in Jr High in a nice warm car. When all the neighborhood kids started roller skating, she always dropped us off and would come back and pick us up if we didn't have a ride no questions asked Later in my life, she was there for me when I lost my mother. Yet once again years later at my wedding when my mother was no longer with us, she was there for me. Over the years I always enjoyed our phone visits when she would call my office and we shared many laughs. I don't know that I ever thanked her or told her what she meant to me. She will always have a special place in my heart and be forever missed.

I will never know the whole reason why you had to go. Your life had so much meaning and you were loved by many people here and God above. Your caring heart and kind ways make me think of the days you were here. I remember you would get after Joey and Johnny for throwing things and to get their room cleaned up. And you would give Big Pete a hard time about this and that, which he sometimes scoffed at, and at other times he laughed. The back and forth jabs between you both were funny to see. But, it had the beauty of a soft gentle love. In addition, how you would encourage Cass, Caleb, Kelsey and Nathan to follow their life dreams but to work hard to achieve them. The birthday and Christmas cards and gifts you gave the children for many years ensured they knew they were loved. When we eat out, you always would remember to bring something back for Mister Bailey, your cat. We shared so many Family life stories about joys, sorrows, trials, and working through life obstacles.
I have learned in this life we all have different journeys and paths we must take, but we were never meant to stay... I believe our destination is a place, far greater than we know. For some people the journey is fast, for others the journey is slow. For so long you were in pain, you suffered much in silence, and your spirit was strong. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be found. He wrapped his loving arms around you and whispered “Jean" ‘Come with me”. You leave all of your beautiful children and many other loved ones behind that will help me keep your memory in my heart, and to tell others of your kind ways and caring heart. May the love I have for you reach Heaven above until we meet again.

Sending prayers & peace to the Carey Family. I had the joy of knowing Hester when I was employed at Norton Family Practice. Hester & some of her family were patients there with Dr. Joe Brock. I always enjoyed seeing Hester & her family when they came in for appointments with Dr.Brock. Hester was a very sweet & caring lady.
Now my daughter is Momma to Hestet's great-grandson Benjamin Joseph. Hester would be so proud of Joe being a loving & caring Daddy to Ben. I know how important family was to Hester. I know Joe will be telling Ben all about Great Grandma Jean. Hold all the special memories close to your heart. I know heaven has gained a wonderful gal & Ben has a special Angel looking over him ❤️
