Hilda M. McBride's Obituary
Hilda M. McBride, age 99, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019. She was born December 18, 1919 in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland to Selby and Blanche (Dawe) Sheppard. On May 8, 1942, she married David J. McBride in Everett, MA. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David, and also her parents, a sister, and 3 brothers. SURVIVORS include 3 children: Diane (Ronald) Lindquist, Judy (Dennis) Masson, David McBride; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Gloria Godwin, Joan Weintraub; sister-in-law, Helen Sheppard; many nieces and nephews. Hilda adored her family and friends and was loved by all who knew her. She was always the center of the family, teaching them to love each other, their extended families, friends and mankind in general. She had an affinity for fun, a bit of mischief in her soul. The family was truly blessed to have her in their lives as long as they did, and Hilda set the bar exceedingly high for how to live a good life. She will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Hilda’s Life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 27, 2019 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 524 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417 with the Rev. Dr. Jared C. Cramer presiding.
