Hilde P. Nichols' Obituary
Hilde Paula Nichols, age 88, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018. She was born December 10, 1929 in Stuttgart, Germany to Eugen and Pauline (Noller) Bareis.
On March 22, 1951, she married Emery G. Nichols, and celebrated 66 years of marriage together. Emery preceded her in death on December 9, 2017. Hilde worked for Meijer, Inc. in the service department for 23 years prior to her retirement in 1994. In her late 80’s, she worked as the door hostess at Club Envy for 5 years and was affectionately known by many as “mom”. She enjoyed shopping, knitting, gardening, and spending time in her yard. SURVIVORS include three sons: Thomas Nichols of Twin Lake, Steven (Carrie Tanner) Nichols of Shelby, and David (Debbie Covington) Nichols of Twin Lake; five grandchildren: Jason Nichols, Sean Nichols, David M. Nichols, Misty Nichols, and Jennifer Degen; five great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law, Jamie Boles. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, and two sisters.
