H. Jean Van Wingerden's Obituary
H. Jean Van Wingerden, age 78, of Ferrysburg went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 19, 2010. Jean was born on December 27, 1931 in Grand Rapids, MI to George and Agnes (Baker) VanZytveld. Jean was married to Ernie Van Wingerden for 58 years. Jean and Ernie previously resided in Grosse Pointe Park, MI and in San Jose, CA.
Jean was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church in Grand Haven. Throughout her lifetime, she was an active volunteer in her civic, church, and Christian school communities. Jean approached all of life with a delightful sense of humor, loved spending time with her family, and was an avid reader.
Jean is survived by her husband Ernie; her sons and daughters-in-law Jim and Mary Ellen, Tom and Mary, Dave and Jodi; 8 grandchildren: Erin (Scott) DeYoung, Sarah (Justin) Bratt, Tim, Ryan, Christian, Dena, Anna, and Will Van Wingerden; 2 great grandsons, Samuel and John DeYoung; 2 sisters, Joanne Hasper of Hot Springs Village, AR, and Sharon Brammel of Germantown, MD.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Second Christian Reformed Church in Grand Haven with Rev. Eugene Los officiating. The family will receive visitors on Monday evening, June 21, from 7-9 P.M. at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven.
