Mrs Hope Thelma Tracy's Obituary
Mrs. Hope Tracy, age 90, passed away Thursday morning, August 9, 2012, at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. Hope was born October 16, 1921 in Walkerville, MI to Samuel and Eva (Raby) Kirwin. She attended Walkerville High School, County Normal, and Western Michigan University where she received her teaching certificate. Hope started her teaching career in a one room schoolhouse in Walkerville and later taught in the Oakridge Public Schools for more than 20 years, retiring in 1986. On September 4, 1941, she married Gladwin Walter Tracy in Bowling Green, OH. Gladwin preceded Hope in death on June 13, 1961. Hope loved to travel and spend time with her family. She is survived by her 3 children, Eula (Mel) Brimmer of New Era, Sam (Susan) Tracy and Janice (Alan) Baker, all of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Walter (Vicki) Brimmer, Sarah (Craig) Hardy, Kym (John) Cassidy, Todd (Angela)Tracy and Aaron (Sarah) Tracy; 11 great grandchildren, Cody and Jason Pochyla, Alex Hardy, Krystal (Shawn) Kandelac, Zachary and Hope Cassidy, Emma , Maura, Meredith, Alaina and Samuel Tracy; 1 great-great grandchild, Ava Kandelac; 1 brother, Max (Dolly) Kirwin of Hesperia ; 1 sister, Arlene Fairchild of Hesperia; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Thelma was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Troy Pochyla; 3 brothers and 4 sisters. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 1, 2012 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 1-231-798-1100
with Pastors Miriam and Mark Bush co-officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM). In lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Harbor Hospice or Covenant Community Church. INTERMENT will be made in Walkerville Cemetery.
