Howard Clifford Sullivan's Obituary
Howard Clifford Sullivan, age 82, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2023. He was born October 15, 1940 in Ravenna, MI to Glenn E. and Dora A. (Armstrong) Sullivan. Howard worked as a boilermaker and welder for Chicago Bridge and Iron. He married Helen Louise Altic and she preceded him in death in 2015. He attended Wolf Lake United Methodist Church. Howard is known for being a loving, caring and generous man. He lived a simple life which allowed him to bless all those around him. Hobbies consisted of making friendships with strangers, flea marketing, antiquing and restoring antiques including the Future Liner #10. He was a member of the Muskegon Model A club and a prankster at heart. He considered his children and their families to be his greatest achievement. Survivors include 6 sons, John (Laura) Sullivan, James (Jerri) Sullivan, David Sullivan, Thomas (Maria) Sullivan, step sons, David (Barbara) Boyland, Brian Boyland; 5 daughters, Denita (David) Hammerstrom, Sandra (Karl) Mason, Theresa (Joseph) Franze, Wendy (Keith) Schultz, Julie (Robert) Brooks; 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Barry (Wendy) Sullivan; 3 sisters, Gaylon VanHouten, Nancy Warmolts, Mary Lou Huffman, and his sister-in-law, Carol Sullivan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sullivan; step daughter Rayetta, grandson David Mason, great grandson Hunter Walck; his parents; 3 brothers, Michael Sullivan, William Sullivan and Gene Sullivan;. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Wolf Lake United Methodist Church (378 Vista Terrace, Muskegon, MI 49442) with Rev. Carl Black officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Friday at The Ravenna Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 3580 Thomas St., Ravenna, MI 49451. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will take place at Ravenna Township Cemetery.
