Howard E. TenHove, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Howard E. TenHove, Sr., age 73, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, died Saturday afternoon, March 5, 2005. He was born November 8, 1931 in Muskegon to Haike and Jennie (Marrs) TenHove, and had been a life resident. Mr. TenHove was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a Police Officer for the City of Muskegon for 33 years, before retiring in 1990, and also was a bus driver for the Greater Muskegon Catholic Schools for 15 years. For 30 years, he was active in the Miss Michigan Pageant and had served as past president. He was a member of Hope Reformed Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school bus driver. On July 9, 1954, he married the former Elaine Hofmann in Muskegon and she survives him along with 4 children, Howard (Kelly) TenHove, Jr. of Norton Shores, Brian (Michelle) TenHove of Phoenix, AZ, Pamela (Daniel) Stonex, Randy (Lana) TenHove both of Norton Shores; 22 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle TenHove; a brother, John TenHove; 2 sisters, Alberta Hall, and Johanna McWain. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Hope Reformed Church with Rev. Steven Hyma and Rev. Donald Vuurens officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday at
