Howard J. Snider's Obituary
Mr. Howard J. Snider, age 85, passed away early Saturday morning, December 3, 2011. He was born September 27, 1926 in Greenville, MI to Fred and Lucinda (Wickerham) Snider. Howard was a 1944 graduate of Muskegon Heights High School and was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. Mr. Snider was a salesman for Steindler Paper Company for 20 years before retiring. He was an active charter member of Westwood Reformed Church, where he belonged to the Monday Morning Men’s Breakfast, was a former Deacon, was a member of the Church Life and Growth Ministry Team, and belonged to the Young at Heart Senior Group. His favorite time of the year was Christmas, especially decorating his home. On May 28, 1947 he married the former Jean G. Buit in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on March 9, 2007. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Thomas (Norma) Snider of Muskegon, Susan VanderMolen of Dallas, TX, Cindy (Richard) Brown of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Tammie DeBusk, Thomas (Jill) Snider, Jr., Louie Joe (Angela) VanderMolen, Tim (Christina) VanderMolen, Laurie LaNore, Sarah and Ricky Brown; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Westwood Reformed Church with Rev. Scott VanArendonk officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 and one hour prior to the service at the church.
