Howard L. Hagen's Obituary
Mr. Howard L. Hagen, age 86, died Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Muskegon. He was born on October 10, 1917 in Muskegon to Barthold & Emma (Anderson) Hagen, and was a life resident of Muskegon. Mr. Hagen was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Muskegon Eagles 668, Moose Lodge 491, and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII. He had worked at Shaw Walker for 34 years, before retiring in 1983. On September 29, 1941 he married the former Henrietta Baker, and she preceded him in death on February 11, 1999. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Charles (Joann) Hagen of Muskegon, and Thomas Hagen of Roosevelt Park; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; 2 step-grandchildren; 2 brothers, James (Marge) Hagen of Muskegon; Lawrence “Russ” Hagen of Massachusetts; 4 sisters, Ethel Pierce, Helen Bernice Kienke, Mildred Hasenbank, Sandra (Harvey) Pummel all of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Fannie Baker; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Hagen was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert Hagen and Donald Hagen; and 1 sister, Maxine Bolle. SERVICES will be 11 AM Monday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. William Uetricht officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 and 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11 AM Monday. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions to First Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund, and American Heart Association would be appreciated.
