Hunter Ryan Brondstetter's Obituary
Hunter Ryan Brondstetter, born September 20, 1991, in Muskegon, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday February 4, 2023, in Fountain, MI. The only child to Susan Silvis and Eric Silvis. Co-Parent Grandmother Judy Ann Parr. Hunter was also preceded in death by his Father James M. Brondstetter.
Although our hearts are broken and hurting, we know that we will always treasure the smiles and laughter Hunter brought to those around him. Hunter enjoyed his time playing hockey, baseball, and football at Norton Shores through middle school. He loved his friends and family with all his heart.
Jim, Eric and I were never parents to make excuses for our son’s behavior. Navigating a child through ADHD, Bipolar, and Schizophrenia was not easy, as he like many other children lean on drugs to mask their pain or gain some kind of normalcy. We walked the endless road through recovery services or lack thereof. I am at peace knowing Hunter’s suffering has ended. I am so happy that he got to experience sobriety for the past two years and to reunite with his family in a positive way. It is devastating to have fought this fight for over 17 years to only be another statistic.
Hunter’s brain was donated to Western Michigan University so they can study and gain knowledge about the long term effects of ADHD medication, his mental disorders and drug use effects on the brain. Rest in peace dear son.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
