Ida Mae Gee's Obituary
Ms. Ida Mae Gee, age 85, of Muskegon, Michigan, departed this life and entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 01, 2020 surrounded by her family. Ida was born on May 6, 1935 in Vicksburg Mississippi to Ruby McPherson and Willie Watts. She grew up in Mississippi and Michigan. Ms. Gee attended school in Vicksburg, Miss. In 1952, she married the love of her life, Willie Gee Sr. To this union twelve children were born, and many others were in her care. In 1965, Ms. Gee moved to Michigan form Mississippi to begin a new life and to provide her children with better opportunities. Ida Mae accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at the Corinthians under the leadership of Rev. Clarence Guy but later reunited with Fountain of Love under the leadership Scottie McKinley where she was a member until her health failed. Ms. Gee was a woman of resilience and especially loved in her hometown. She is survivor of cervical and breast cancer. Ms. Gee valued her family and enjoyed cooking with a common denominator to bring her family together. She had a heartfelt for children especially those who met her. “Never had to worry about a babysitter, just call “Ms. Gee” She was known as “Ms. Gee”, a name that accumulated much reverence through her deeds of love and because of that her legacy will forever be imprinted on the years of those whom she loved. Ms. Ida Mae Gee leaves to cherish her loving children; Elson Gee, Patricia (Emil) Culp, Rose Gee, Alberta Harris, Dianne (Donnie) Lattimore, Carl (Lena) Gee, Carolyn Gee, Sharlon Gee, Ora Gee- Jones, and Ona Gee- Davis; brothers, William Watts and Steven Watts; and sisters, Jimmy Ezell, Rosalee Watts, Sally K. Watts and Annie Mae Watts. A host of 33 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren whom she loved so dearly. Ms. Ida Mae Gee was preceded in death by her parents; Ruby Austin, Willie Watts, brother; Willie Monroe-Watts, son; Willie Gee Jr.; daughter; Gloria Gee; grandson Ja’Quan White; great-granddaughter; Lovely Wright, and Iyonna Longmire.
