Ida R. Larabee's Obituary
Mrs. Ida Rose Larabee, age 90, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, January 7, 2022. She was born on June 30, 1931 in Muskegon to Harry and Ethel (Shade) McPheron. A lifelong resident of the area, Ida married Eugene Larabee in 1960 and he preceded her in death in 2002. Ida is remembered by her family for her determination and stubborn, strong-will. She loved spending time with her six children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving and supportive mother and her family will miss Ida’s peanut butter fudge and homemade noodles. Family meant everything to Ida, and they made sure to have McPheron Family Reunions every year to catch up and have a friendly euchre tournament. Ida enjoyed gambling, bingo, and playing cards. She loved taking casino trips to Little River Casino with her family. Ida will be dearly missed by her children, Debra (Ron) Jones, Cindy (Rick) Semelbauer, Judy (Dan) Dykema, Paula (Dan) Jorgensen, Linda Fors, and Jeff (Shawnee) Larabee; 20 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, Eugene, Ida was also preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Danny Dykema and Elizabeth Gorajec; son-in-law, Bill Fors; and seven siblings. Per Ida’s wishes, a private family burial will take place at Fruitland Twp. Cemetery. A public Celebration of Life will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Please feel free share a memory with the family online at www.sytsemafh.com.
