Ida Martin's Obituary
Mrs. Ida Martin, age 90, of Grand Haven passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at a Muskegon hospital. Mrs .Martin was born June 26, 1920 to Jacob and Agnes (Kok) VanderMolen in Crockery Township. On September 4, 1942 she married Robert Martin in Grand Haven and he preceded her in death on March 23, 1999.
Ida was a former member of Spring Lake Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and made American flags for her grandsons and great-grandson. Ida loved to travel north to Mackinaw Island and Sault St. Marie. She was also passionate about egg artistry.
She is survived by her daughters, Vickie (Fred) Hodges and Kitty (Bruce) Bazany all of Grand Haven; 3 grandchildren, Robyn (Mike) DeWitt, Troy Bazany and Rob Hodges; 2 great-grandchildren, Chase and Ravyn DeWitt; and 1 sister-in-law, Marie VanderMolen of Nunica. Along with her husband, Robert, she is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Lockard and Margaret VanderMolen; and 7 brothers, Barney, Henry, Jacob, Cornelius, Herbert, Lawrence and John VanderMolen.
Services for Mrs. Martin will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Timothy Kitchen officiating. Burial will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 7-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
