Ida Louise Hindes Nelson's Obituary
Mrs. Ida L. Hindes Nelson, age 84, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Heartwood Lodge. She was born August 31, 1925 in Grand Rapids to John C. and Ruth M. (Myers) Venlet, and resided in the Muskegon area all of her life. She was a member of Fifth Reformed Church. Ida was a wonderful seamstress, and enjoyed square dancing with her first husband Max and their friends. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Max E. Hindes in 1974, and Carl Nelson in 2005. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Vickie (David) DeMaagd of Spring Lake, and Ted (Ruth Ann) Hindes of Ruby Creek, MI; 6 grandchildren, Michelle Tworkoski, Frank Hindes, Bradley Hindes, Ted Hindes, Jr., Jennifer Boes and Ryan Boes; 16 great grandchildren; and brother, John C (Christine) Venlet of Blue Ridge, GA. Ida was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Nelson. SERVICES will be 3 PM Wednesday at Fifth Reformed Church (2330 Holton Rd.) with Rev. Norman Swier officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place in E. Dalton Oakhill Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Fifth Reformed Church or Hospice at Heartwood Lodge (NOCC) will be appreciated.
