Mrs. Ilah Maude Flood's Obituary
Mrs. Ilah Maude Flood, age 93, passed away Tuesday morning, October 27, 2015 at Hillcrest Nursing Center. Ilah was born September 29, 1922 in Hillsdale, MI to George and Edith (Causeway) Smith. She married Louis F. Flood on November 1, 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1997. Ilah worked in retail sales for Spartan Stores for more than 25 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church. Ilah enjoyed traveling, sewing and knitting, having fun with her grandchildren, and going for ice cream with her family. She is survived by her children, Sandy (John) Kriger, Louis E. Flood, James (Janet) Flood, Paula (Robert) Ackerson and Patrick (Christine) Flood; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Louis, she was preceded in death by a son, Kent; grandson, Sean Flood; granddaughter, Moriah; her parents; and a sister, Lois Smith. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the First Wesleyan Church, 1040 E. Forest Ave. with Rev. Richard Bennett officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to First Wesleyan Church. INTERMENT will be in Mona View Cemetery.
