Ingrid H. Maire's Obituary
Ingrid Hildegard Maire, age 89, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021. She was born on March 25, 1932, to Emil and Katharina (Schaefer) Rampoldt in Niles, MI. Ingrid graduated from Western Michigan University and went on to work as a teacher in the Muskegon Heights School District until she became a mother and began to focus on her own children. Ingrid’s life revolved around music and singing, and she always had Blue Lake Radio playing in the background. She was a member of the Michigan Federation of Music Clubs, and the White Lake Chorale. She was in creative writing group, where most of her stories were about her beloved grand dog, Layla. One of her greatest gifts was her ability to crochet and she made many beautiful pieces for family and friends. Ingrid had a strong faith and she enjoyed bible studies throughout her life. She loved swimming and walking along Lake Michigan and enjoyed visiting Lake Michigan’s beautiful lighthouses.
Ingrid is survived by her children, Stephen Maire, Bruce (Susan) Maire, Jacquelyn (David) Brinza, John (Mary) Maire; grandchildren, Christopher (Courtney) Burling, Michael (Yukari) Burling, Sarah (Matt) Lydon, Joel (Camila) Maire, Andrew Maire, Jaime Maire, Jason Maire, Bradley Maire, Georgie Butler, Kayla Schermann; brother, Eric (Brenda) Rampoldt; and her grand dog, Layla. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Lewis E. Maire; and brother, Rolf Rampoldt.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Ingrid will take place on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 11:00 AM at The Lee Chapel of The Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery.
