Irene D. Hansen's Obituary
Mrs. Irene D. Hansen, age 92, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 in Muskegon. She was born on August 16, 1925 in Scottville, MI to George and Elizabeth (Ritter) Wahr, and resided in the Muskegon area since 1946. Irene attended Temple United Methodist Church, and volunteered at the Seaway Trap Club. She married Leslie Hansen on July 1, 1944 in South Carolina, and he preceded her in death on June 27, 1991. SURVIVORS include her son, Roger (Terry) Hansen of Norton Shores; two granddaughters, Kelly (Todd) George and Jennifer (Jayson) Barangan; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Rylee, Milo, Louella, and Kai; sisters-in-law, Beverly Hansen and Phyllis Wahr, and brother-in-law, George Hansen. Irene was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Wahr, and Lucille Wahr; and three brothers, George Wahr, Lewis Wahr, and William Wahr. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Pastor John Hansen officiating. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. Memorial Contributions in Irene’s name to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
