Mrs. Irene T. Langoni's Obituary
Mrs. Irene T. Langoni, age 90, passed away Wednesday evening, January 7, 2015. She was born June 15, 1924 in Muskegon to Stanley and Katherine (Falasz) Janusiewicz and had been a 70 year resident of the area and from 1972-2004 resided in Mobile, AL. Mrs. Langoni was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Lions, U of M and Notre Dame football, traveling, and entertaining. On October 22, 1943 she married John Langoni in Grand Haven and he preceded her in death in June of 1994. SURVIVORS include 2 children: Judith (George) Langoni-Zubrickas of Grand Rapids, Thomas (Mary) Langoni of Kalamazoo; granddaughter, Sara (Terry) DeKoninck; 3 great-grandchildren: Audrey, Samuel, and Charles DeKoninck; 2 sisters: Maxine (Gerald) Johnson, Marcella Stewart; many beloved nieces and nephews; and life-long special friends: Christine and Irene Miegoc. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Langoni; and 3 brothers: Chester, Eugene, and Edward Janusiewicz. A MEMORIAL MASS will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz presiding, with the Rosary prayed at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation or St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
