Irene M. Sanocki's Obituary
Mrs. Irene Mary Sanocki, age 83, passed away at her home Sunday afternoon, November 1, 2015, after a short illness. She was born March 26, 1932 in Muskegon to Martin and Katherine (Kirchner) Hanis, and had been a life-resident of the area. Irene attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated in 1950 from St. Mary’s Catholic High School. In addition to being a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she helped clean the church and assisted with funeral luncheons, as well as being a member of its Altar Society. She was also a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union and Tatra Hall. Irene was a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother, and enjoyed baking and meal preparation. On September 26, 1953 she married Edward M. Sanocki and together were often considered the best dancers on the dance floor. SURVIVORS include her husband, Ed; 6 children, Ed (Patti) Sanocki, Jr., Karen Edens, Tom (Mary Amy) Sanocki, Rose Sanocki, John (Michele) Sanocki and Steve (Jen) Sanocki; 17 grandchildren, Chris, Jackie, Katie, Jamie, Jim, Mike, Kristen, Mark, David, Andrew, Emily, Sarah, Johnny, Maria, Allie, Jack and Kiley; 1 great-grandson, Zachary and special friends, Donna Christensen, Ann Briggs, and Don & Lawain Butterfield. Irene was preceded in death by her son-in-law, James Edens, Jr., sister, Katherine Schmitt and brother, Joseph Hanis. The Sanocki Family would like to express their sincere thanks to her Harbor Hospice care-givers, Sue, Carrie and Cheri; and to Rev. Fr. Antony Britto for his love and constant attention. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday, November 6, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (150 E. Summit Ave., Muskegon Heights, MI 49444). VISITATION with Irene’s family will be at the Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100), 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM Thursday; and where THE ROSARY will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
