Irene Frances Rodgers Bailey's Obituary
Mrs. Irene Frances Rodgers Bailey, age 96, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on May 29, 1928 to Francis and Velma (Carpenter) DuJardine. Irene was employed by Continental Motors and Meijer prior to her retirement. She had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, and Lake Harbor United Methodist Church. Irene enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening and entertaining family and friends in her condo. She was an avid bridge player with the same friends for over 20 years and she spent several years as an usher at Frauenthal Theater. Irene is survived by four children, Ron (Joanne) Rodgers, Rozlyn (Bill) Wright, Charlotte (David) Brown, and James (Carla) Rodgers; nine grandchildren, Eric (Mariah) Rodgers, Alex Rodgers, Dustin (Melissa) Rodgers, Corrie Zatalokin, Alison (Carl) Lewallen, Breanna (Kody) Kotecki, Tina (Doug) Schmidt, Tim (Aryn) MacKay, and Travis MacKay; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, William H. Rodgers and Howard C. Bailey; one brother; two sisters; and dear friend, Maurie Erickson. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Her Life will be arranged at a later date. Arrangements by The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W.
