Mrs. Irene Lillian Sorenson's Obituary
Irene Lillian Sorenson, age 73 passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2013. Irene was born on January 2, 1940 to Gerald (Kelly) Clawson and Alice Clawson. Irene lived her entire life in the Muskegon area. She attended Muskegon High School and graduated in 1957. Irene lost her first husband early in life and married Roland Sorenson in 1962. Irene enjoyed reading, playing solitaire on her computer, traveling, camping, and lunches with her life long school girlfriends. Irene was involved in many activities with her children, volunteered many years with the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, and the Lakeside Football Club, and she was also a member of Vikings-Linne Lodge No. 57. She was very family oriented, a loving and caring person and will be deeply missed. Irene is survived by her husband Roland; 2 children Patrick (Susan) Sorenson, and Penny (Gregg Helm) Sorenson; her grandchildren Jennifer Scott, Jennifer (Scott) Bradtmiller, Timothy Scott Jaclyn Clapper, Emily Sorenson, and Michael Sorenson; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Judy (David) Krol; her "Fuzzy" daughter Hooligan; a special friend/caretaker Cindy Wilkinson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband Roger Semelbauer; daughter Kelly Sue Scott; and her parents. A VISITATION will be held on March 8th from 6-8pm at the Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565. INTERMENT will take place at the Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the West Michigan Therapy Dogs, Inc.
