Irene M. Wierszewski's Obituary
Irene M. Wierszewski, age 97, passed away on July 6, 2014 at the Poppen Residence. She was born on March 8, 1917 to Stanley and Stella (Matuszek) Drzewiecki in Toledo, OH. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Irene worked as a clerk for the retail store Lamson’s in Toledo. She was known to be very fashionable, while enjoying knitting, shopping, flower arranging, spending time with her family and traveling after retirement. Irene will always be remembered for her delicious Christmas cookies and rescuing cats with love in her Toledo neighborhood. She was married to James Refermat and later married Chester Wierszewski and both preceded Irene in death. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Marsha Musil; grandchildren, Tracy Musil, Sandra (Erik) Pope, Susan (Joseph) VanOosterhout and Joseph Musil; great-grandchildren, Mckenzie, Micah, Nicholas and Brendan. Irene was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Bagrowski and son-in-law, Richard Musil. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 10, 2014 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Fr. Antony Britto presiding. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice would be appreciated. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Toledo.
