Mrs. Irene B. Zarimba's Obituary
Mrs. Irene B. Zarimba, 90, passed away early Sunday morning, November 9, 2014 in Muskegon. She was born August 9, 1924 to Adam and Kathryn (Kmai) Byczek in Chicago, and has lived in the Muskegon area since 1946. Before retiring in 1986 Mrs. Zarimba worked at Ben Franklin/D&C retail stores. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and a past member of the Polish Heritage. She enjoyed reading mystery novels and being involved with different church groups, but most of all she loved her grandchildren. On September 14, 1946 she married Frank J. Zarimba in Chicago, and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1980. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Delores (James) Whittaker of Norton Shores, Arlene (Paul) Garton of Muskegon, Frank (Marilyn) Zarimba of Atlanta, GA; 4 grandchildren, Gina (Matt) Garton-Borowicz, Paul (Jasmine) Garton, Dawn Zarimba and Staci Zarimba; 7 great-grandchildren, Gillian, Zachary, Joseph, Ellery, Alexander, Maddison and Aidin. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 12, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel, with the Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz presiding. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service in the chapel.
