Irene Gizella Ziegler's Obituary
Mrs. Irene G. Ziegler, age 89, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Sanctuary at the Shore. She was born on October 26, 1923 in Muskegon to Lawrence and Mary (Berzenyi) Bosits. Irene served in the U.S. Army as a Registered Nurse during WWII and was employed by C.W.C. Textron as a nurse for over 20 years until her retirement in 1987. She was a very active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, the Women’s Guild, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Catholic War Vets. Irene was an active volunteer for many organizations over the years. On October 23, 1948, she married Wilfred F. Ziegler in Muskegon. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph Ziegler. She is survived by her children: Wilfred “Bill” (Connie) Ziegler, Jr. of South Lyons, MI, Cynthia (John) McCann of Ravensdale, WA and Mary (Roy) Ochoa of Twin Lake, MI; her brother, Lawrence Bosits of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren and many step-grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., December 27, 2012 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church withRev. Fr. Matthew J. Barnum as celebrant. VISITATION will be Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery. MEMORIAL contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation.
