Irma R. Putney's Obituary
Irma Ruth Putney, age 90, passed safely into the arms of Jesus, Sunday, March 15, 2015. She was born September 17, 1924 in Muskegon to Albert and Ella (Pike) Strandberg. Irma worked for Johnson Products for 27 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Salvation Army Corps, the Vikings, and the VFW Post #3734. She also enjoyed bowling, ceramics, camping and spending summers at their home in Silver Lake. On August 6, 1966 she married Donnley Putney in Muskegon and he survives her along with her brother-in-law, Royce Putney; sister-in-law, Nilo Minzey; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, and 4 sisters. The family would like to thank the staff of Harbor Hospice for all of the exceptional care they had given to Irma. She will be sadly missed by all. SERVICES for Irma will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 20, 2015 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 with Captain Dan Sawka officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
