Irma Faith Shermeta's Obituary
Irma Faith Shermeta, 86, died Dec. 1 in Muskegon. Born Oct. 11, 1921, the former Irma Munro and her husband, Steve Shermeta, raised four children and were the owners of the Highway Bar on Apple Avenue for 20 years. Irma's generous and loving spirit, infectious laugh and great love of family and friends, animals and the outdoors will long be remembered. She loved life and lived it with strength and enthusiasm. Irma is survived by her daughter, Ruthann (Norman) McFarren; sons, David (Anne) Shermeta and Steve Shermeta; daughter-in-law, Sharon Shermeta; special friend and care giver, Robin Tobin; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, and son, Bill. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating.
