Isabelle E. Huddlestun's Obituary
Mrs. Isabelle Elizabeth Huddlestun, age 91, died Sunday morning, February 1, 2015 at her home. She was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1923 in Custer, MI to McKinley and Viola (Davis) McClellan; and has resided in the Muskegon area since 1941. Isabelle was an active homemaker, having served as a past board member for Angell and Roosevelt Schools, was a past PTA participant, Den-mother for Boy Scouts, a Girl Scout Leader and was Past President of the “Blue Star Mothers”. She was a member of Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church. Isabelle was also a writer for Senior Perspectives through Tanglewood; and was a world traveler, especially enjoying New York, San Diego, Hawaii and Mexico, which she liked best. On November 15, 1941 she married Monroe F. Huddlestun and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Wayne; daughter, Sandra Bickford and by 2 brothers, Richard and Donald McClellan. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Darrell Huddlestun of Fruitport, Susan (Stan) Homik of Twin Lake, Kathleen (Connor) Clark of Dade City, FL, Rhonda Garcia and Kimberly (Tracy) Archer of Muskegon; her daughter-in-law, Judy Huddlestun of Montague; 20 grandchildren;7 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Elmer McClellan of Flushing, MI and 1 sister, Mary M Engleberg of Custer, MI. FUNERAL SERVICES for Isabel will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 7, 2015 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 E. Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210) with Pastor Tom Pettinga officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one-hour prior to the service. INTERMENT will be in Riverside Cemetery, Custer, MI.
