Ivan C. Manning's Obituary
Ivan C. Manning, age 89, passed away May 31, 2018 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born on April 28, 1929 to Carl and Grace (Collett) Manning in Grand Rapids. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Muskegon. Prior to 1991, Ivan founded and operated Jansen-Manning Builders and Contractors. When he wasn't working hard, Ivan enjoyed tending flowers and boating in the summer. On July 24, 1949, he married Pauline R. Carlson and she preceded him in death on June 26, 2013. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Carl (Rebecca) Manning, Juanita (Thomas) Manning-Walsh and George (Cindy Houser) Manning; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Daniel (Bonnie) Manning; Douglas (Lu) Manning and "His Sweetie" Bessie Wynn. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Leanore McCraw. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor Kameron B. Devasher officiating. VISITATION with the family will be Monday 5-8PM at the funeral home.
