Ivory Hamilton's Obituary
Mr. Ivory Hamilton, age 86, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2016 in Grand Haven, Michigan. He was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on April 12, 1931 to Orbie and Mae (Blevins) Hamilton. On June 25, 1953, Ivory married the former Bettie Caroline Elliott in McDowell, Kentucky. They resided in Wayne, Michigan prior to moving to Fruitport, Michigan in 2013. Ivory was employed by the Cadillac Division of General Motors prior to his retirement. He enjoyed boating and watching TV, and will be remembered as a storyteller. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bettie; daughter, Brenda (Burl) Newbill of Spring Lake, Michigan; son, Larry (Jeanine) Hamilton of Mattawan, Michigan; four grandchildren, Chad (Karon) Newbill, Adam Hamilton, Sara Hamilton and Cole Hamilton; three great-grandchildren, Summer, Chad Jr. and Aliyah Newbill; brother, Lloyd Hamilton of Bardstown, Kentucky and sister-in-law, Doylene Sherer of Jasper, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Eugene, Ishmael and Rex Hamilton; and two grandsons, David Hamilton and Travis Newbill. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Flowerfield Township Cemetery in Marcellus, Michigan.
