Jack D. Adkins' Obituary
Jack D. Adkins passed away peacefully on Thursday November 19, 2020 due to complications from diabetes. Jack was born on July 26, 1947 to Jesse and Evelyn (Wilburn) Adkins. He resided in Muskegon his whole life, graduating from Muskegon Heights HS in 1965. Jack worked side by side with his dad at Jesse’s and Son Snowplowing until starting his own business, Norton Shores Snowplowing in the 90’s. Jack married Colleen (Reck) on June 5, 1979 and they spent over 41 years together until his passing on Thursday. Their years together were blessed with many happy moments and funny stories. Jack enjoyed being outdoors gardening, hunting, fishing and loved baseball and golf. He always loved talking to people and many may remember Jack in his golf cart, with his faithful canine companion, Ian. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Evelyn Adkins; brothers, Jesse Jr. and Paul Adkins; in-laws, William and Ruth Reck; and brother-in-law Gregory Harrison. He is survived by his wife, Colleen; sons, Jack D Jr (Paula) Thomas Adkins, Timothy (Andrea) Adkins, and daughter, Ashley Adkins; grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan, Jeremy, Tristan and Maya; sister-in-law, Linda Harrison and brother-in-law, Timothy (Jennifer) Reck. There will be a private ceremony with Reverend Mark Gilson presiding on November 28, 2020.
