Jack D. Beardsley's Obituary
Jack D. Beardsley, age 86, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Poppen Residence after complications of a stroke. He was born June 27, 1933 in Muskegon to Burrell and Ann (Westerman) Beardsley and lived all his life in the area. On October 9, 1976, he married Jeanne M. (Lucke) Simila in Muskegon. Jack worked 34 years as a trucker for his family business, Beardsley Trucking, and later retired in 1986 from Wagoner Transportation. He enjoyed baseball and loved watching the Tigers and White Caps. He was also a fan of the Muskegon Lumberjacks having been a season ticket holder for many years. Jack especially enjoyed attending his great-grandkids sporting events. He was a member of First Lutheran Church. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne M. Beardsley; 2 sons, Ronald “Joe” (Sheryl) Beardsley, Jack D. Beardsley II; 3 step-children, Debbe (Michael) Matrone, John (Ruthann) Simila, Jodie (Richard) Ahrens; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Burle Beardsley, and 1 sister, Sally A. Broersman. In keeping with Jack’s wishes, there will be no public services.
