Jack D. Hills' Obituary
Jack D. Hills, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 2, 1942, to Jesse and Evelyn (Ericks) Hills Sr. in Muskegon, MI where he has remained a lifelong resident. He was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force, working as a jet plane mechanic. Jack was a dedicated employee of Browns and Morris and National Products, where he specialized as a machinist. Later in life he worked for his step-son, Russell Swanson at Crystal Cool Ice. On December 16, 1977, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Swanson. Jack was a true outdoorsman enjoying both hunting and fishing. He loved smoking his catches usually with a cold beer in hand. Jack had great taste in music, loved to bowl and root for his Detroit Lions. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his warm smile and ability to fill a room with laughter. Jack was a sweet natured man who was loved by so many. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hills; daughter, Lisa (Jeff Moll) Kendra; five stepchildren, Debi (John) Krueger, Russell Swanson, Dolly (Rick) Robinson, Bonnie Crampton and Robert (Tracy) Swanson; 20 grandchildren, Crystal, Chad, Adrianne (Mitch), Caleb, Tony, Julie, Mike (Brittney), Tim, Jeff (Bonnie), Jennifer, Kelly (Josh), Nikki (Lance), Brandon (Mariesa), Mandy (Kurt), Bob (Stephanie), Tommy, Josh (Stephanie), Dylan (Brianna), Kylie (Connor) and Kara (Jacob); 40 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson; two sisters, Maudie Lockhart and JoAnn Paprocki; brother, Jesse (Betty) Hills Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Aube and Diane Meara; brother-in-law, Louis (Debra) Oswald; and beloved cat, Stubby. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gerald (JoAnne) Hills and Charles Hills; granddaughter, Shannah Swanson; five brothers-in-law, Henry Lockhart, Ray Paprocki, Fred Meara, Daniel (Kay) Meara and Norm Aube; sister-in-law, Carol (Walter) Case; two sons-in-law, Robert Kasmauski and Les Crampton; and cherished pup, Toby.
