Jack B. McKinley's Obituary
Jack B. McKinley, age 93, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 in Arcadia, FL, where he enjoyed spending his winters for the past ten years. He was born August 28, 1930 in Manistee, MI to Robert and Clara (Murphy) McKinley. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. On August 5, 1950, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Louise Pfeiffer in Flint, MI and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2014 after 63 years of marriage. He worked 42 years at Teledyne-Continental Motors and retired as Sales and Marketing Manager in 1993. He was a longtime member of the former Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Survivors include 4 children, Patricia McKinley (Don Oudman), Jack (Sharon) McKinley, Pamela Szmadzinski, James McKinley; 9 grandchildren, Bob and Greg Moore, Matt, Amy, Jacklynne McKinley, Kelsey and Kendall McKinley, and Joseph and Corey Szmadzinski; 2 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Diane Somsel and many cherished nieces and nephews. His family was his priority in everything he did in life, as a provider, father and grandfather. He most enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren attending their social and sporting activities, traveling with them and making lifelong memories. Jack was an avid cruiser, enjoyed fishing, golf and a good weeknight card game with his buddies. He was also quite active spending hours socializing and volunteering at the Vikings, Eagles and Elks lodges. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Thursday, March 7, 2024 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (239 W. Clay Ave., Muskegon, MI 49440) with Fr. Kyle Kilpatrick presiding. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jack’s name to the Vikings Linne Lodge #57 Scholarship Fund or the American Kidney Fund. Interment will take place at Mt.
