Jack Raywood Nelson's Obituary
Jack Raywood Nelson passed away at home on July 7, 2013. He was 84 years old. Jack was born on December 29, 1928 to Walter and Beatrice Nelson. Like many others of the time Jack answered the call to serve his country. Jack served during the Korean conflict in the 1st Marine Division. He was wounded twice, receiving a purple heart. He was proud to be a Marine. After the war he married the former Marilyn Curtice and they were able to enjoy 60 years of marriage together; 59 of those years at their residence on Sheridan Drive. Jack was a very active individual. He worked for Sealed Power for over 21 years before retiring in 1992. He enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, and skiing well into his 70’s. He also loved motorcycling on his Goldwing and traveling with Marilyn for 36 years all over the west. He was a determined, tough, generous person who will be deeply missed. SURVIVORS include his wife, Marilyn; brother, Leonard ( Joanne) Nelson; 2 sisters, Florence Robinson and Beatrice Seaman; 2 sisters-in-law, Brenda Wei, and Janice Renas; and many beloved nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ed, Fred, and Nels Nelson. SERVICES will be held at Egelston Township Cemetery on July 16th, 2013 at 11AM.
