Jack Daniel Rasey's Obituary
Jack Daniel Rasey, age 59, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Trinity Health – Grand Rapids Hospital. He was born May 21, 1966 in Muskegon to Jack N. and Charlene A. (Jaeger) Rasey and lived his entire life in the area. Jack married Caroline Lee “Kari” Houseman on October 18, 1986 in Muskegon. Jack worked as a machinist for over 20 years at Herman-Miller Corp. He was active with the Fruitport Band Parents Association and the National Wild Turkey Federation. Jack was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking. He was a very generous guy who enjoyed looking after his neighbors and cooking for those he loved. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends. Survivors include his wife, Kari Rasey; his granddaughter, Ari Rasey; his dad and step-mother, Jack and Jane Rasey; his mother-in-law, Marrianne Houseman; 1 sister, Cori (Jeff) Lifer; 1 brother-in-law, Matt (Heidi) Houseman; 7 nieces and nephews, Kyle Lifer, Michelle Lifer, Ryan Lifer, Jacob (Megan) Houseman, Emma (Noel) Rahrig, Megan Houseman, Mattie Houseman; and his great-niece, Harlow Houseman. Jack was preceded in death by his 2 sons, Joey Rasey and Zach Rasey; his mother, Charlene Rasey; and his father-in-law, Virgil Houseman. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Sunday, November 2, 2025 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI 49441.
