Jack W. Wiersma's Obituary
Jack Wiersma, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2021. He was born on November 3, 1924 to Edwin and Clara (Olson) Wiersma in Muskegon. Jack proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps and served during WWII in the China Burma India Theater. On February 7, 1948 he married the love of his life, the former Olga Alice Dratz, and together they spent 66 happy years together until her passing in June of 2014. Jack spent his working life as a well-respected building contractor in the Muskegon area for over 50 years. He was a life member of Elks Lodge #274 and a past exalted ruler. He enjoyed watching the Tigers, yelling at the Lions, and loved cheering on the Red Wings. He is survived by his loving son, Scott (Michelle) Wiersma; grandchildren, Jordan (Ashley) Wiersma, Lindsey Wiersma, Courtney (Kevon) Nichols; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Elena, Hunter, Ava, William, Alivia; step great-grandchildren, Brandon, Braylen, Kevon, Jr.; sister, Joyce (Dr. Kenneth) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Olga Wiersma; daughter, Jill Bennett; and siblings, Phyllis, Roger, Marjorie, Shirley, and Jerry.
