Jack A. Wortelboer's Obituary
Jack A. Wortelboer, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 25, 1943, to John and Betty (Doney) Wortelboer in Muskegon, MI, where he remained a lifelong resident. Jack graduated from Muskegon Catholic High School before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career at Lift-Tech, specializing in welding and assembly. Beginning his work there in 1965, Jack remained until the company’s closing, retiring the very same day. On November 14, 1964, Jack married the love of his life, Geraldine “Gerri” Krywicki. Together, they shared 39 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and adventure, until her passing on October 20, 2004. Alongside their marriage, the couple owned and operated the Tasty Corner for about 15 years, where they were affectionately known as “Big Daddy Jack.” An avid outdoorsman, Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping in the woods. He was also a proud Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan, never missing the chance to cheer on his team. Above all, Jack treasured time with his family and friends. Known for his love of a good debate and his determined personality, he was equally admired for his gentle, teddy-bear-like nature. Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his three children, Anthony “Tony” Wortelboer, Cindy (Ed) Guimond and Bobbi (Tracy) Wozny; 11 grandchildren, Jacqui, Desiree, Niko, Tony, Caleb, Natalie, Brandon (Brittney), Jack (Sierra), Kyle, Michael and Colin; four great-grandchildren, Brayleigh, Brantley, Leland and Gavin; two sisters, Jone Benedict and Kathy Wildfong; brother, AJ (Allison) Wortelboer; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
