Jack Amos Reed's Obituary
Jack Amos Reed, age 87, of West Olive, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2008 at a local care facility. He was born December 7, 1920 in Detroit, to Frank and Hazel (Sliter) Reed and married the former Gertrude Kopec in 1950 in Grand Rapids. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2006.
Mr. Reed was a machinist for Link Corporation in Grand Rapids until he retired in 1983. He did his duty for his country in the Army Air Corp and served in World War II. He enjoyed music and listening to Lawrence Welk.
Mr. Reed is survived by his daughter-in-law, Penny Reed of West Olive; two grandchildren, Kelly(Iskender) Tulu of Grand Haven, and Naome (Brian) Holt of Holland; a great-grandson, Cengis Tulu of Grand Haven; a sister-in-law, Barbara Nink of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death as did his son, John J. Reed, in 2003.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no services. Interment will be in Robinson Township Cemetery, Grand Haven.
