Jack H. Mandt's Obituary
Mr. Jack H. Mandt, age 62, passed away Sunday morning, September 14, 2008 from complications following a motorcycle accident on August 30th. He was born October 16, 1945 in Muskegon to Howard and Miranda (Viger) Mandt. Mr. Mandt worked for Knoll Group for 29 years before retiring in 2006. Jack was an avid Harley Rider and a member of the Muskegon Motorcycle Gang (MMG): a local motorcycle club known for raising funds for local charities. On September 21, 1972 he married the former Nancy Strong in Muskegon and she survives him along with 2 sons, Chris (Jenny) Mandt of Monroe, MI, Harley Mandt of Muskegon; beloved granddaughter, Paige Mandt of Muskegon; brothers, Ross (Pat) Mandt of San Francisco, CA, Robert Mandt of Port Orange, FL; sisters, Mary Smith, SueAnn (Bruce) Engle, Rhonda (Rick) Bordeaux all of Muskegon; mother-in-law, Norma Sutphen; many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and their children; special friends, Dave Matuzeski “7” of MMG, Don and Irmgard, Joel, Bob, and Michael Butler of Escondido, CA; and his faithful companion, Chopper. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Mike Smith. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Rev. Jim Foster officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Every Woman’s Place / Webster House Youth Services (1221 W. Laketon, Muskegon, MI 49441) in honor of Jack Mandt.
