Jacklyn June Ferris' Obituary
Mrs. Jacklyn J. Ferris, age 80, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014. She was born in Muskegon Heights on June 11, 1933 to Clifford and Hazel (Gould) Cooper. Jacklyn was employed as an Anodizer at Kersman Industries and later for Almond Enterprises until her retirement in 1996. She had attended Free Methodist Church of Ravenna. She devoted her life to her husband, children, family and friends. She had a love of cooking, sewing and arts and crafts. She married Richard N. Ferris in Muskegon on August 11, 1951. He survives her along with their children: Rev. Richard A. (Robin) Ferris, Garry L. (Gwen Gutowski) Ferris, Brenda K. (Dara Hammerle) Locke and Steven W. Ferris; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, David (Cora) Cooper; 5 sisters, Elaine Cox, Delores Mahan, Doris Parrott, Louella (Jack) VanDyke and Carol Norton; also her best friend, Virginia Rhodea. She was preceded in death by her parents and 5 sisters, LaRain VanderWarf, Dorothy Wheeler, Barbara Smith, Lenola Welch and Hazel Norfolk. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. VISITATION will be Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Mona View Cemetery. Those desiring an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Harbor Hospice.
