Jack W. Johnson's Obituary
Mr. Jack "J.J." Wallace Johnson, age 63, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at his home in Newaygo. He was born February 1, 1941 to Clayton and Dorothy (Fields-Saxton)Johnson in Muskegon and was a life resident of the Western Michigan area. Mr. Johnson served in the Armed Forces for a total of 30 years, including time in the Marine Corps, Army Reserves, and the Army National Guard Reserves. He is survived by his wife Laura
(Steinmacher). He is also survived by 2 sons, Jeff (Mary) Johnson, Brian (June) Johnson; 2 grandchildren, Austin & Kolton; 4 step-children, Amanda, Marty, Joshua, Muranda; 3 step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Joshua, Denver; his mother, Dorothy Saxton; 1 brother, Larry (MaryAnn) Saxton; 1 sister, Mildred Parriot; his step-mother, Helen Johnson; 2 step-brothers, John (Vicki) Johnson, Charles (Linda) Johnson; 1 step-sister, Christine (Kurt) Briggs; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Johnson; his step-father, Duff Saxton; and his son, Todd Johnson. SERVICES will be 11AM Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210, with Rev. David Tabler officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery-Holton Township. There will be a luncheon at 1:00 pm at the VFW Post 7729, at 6285 E. Apple, Muskegon, MI. Contributions in Mr. Johnson's memory can be made to American Cancer Society, Hospice of Michigan, or to the Family.
