Jacqueline "Jackie" Walukonis' Obituary
Mrs. Jacqueline "Jackie" Walukonis, age 93 passed away on November 3, 2022 peacefully. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Jackie was born on September 26th, 1929 in Muskegon Michigan to Leo and Irene Riegler. On May 6th 1950, she married Richard "Rich" Walukonis. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage. Jackie was a teacher and principal for 35 years at Muskegon Catholic Schools and retired in 2004. Jackie's passion for music led her to play music and sing for her beloved church. She loved watching her alma mater, Michigan State "Spartans" and the Detroit Tigers. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Walukonis, son Edward Walukonis, and son-in-law David Walker. She is survived by her children, Janet Walker; Nancy (J.D.) Parr; Michael (Ann) Walukonis; Michelle (Walter) Meyers; William (Darcy) Walukonis; Joseph (Julie) Walukonis and daughter-in-law Barbara Walukonis. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Wright, Joan Walukonis, and Mary Lee Buckley. Jackie treasured her 23 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. In honor of Jackie's passion for education, Memorial Contributions to the Muskegon County Catholic Education Foundation will be appreciated.
