Jacqueline L. "Jackie" Raulin's Obituary
Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Raulin, age 80, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Morning View Living Center in South Bend, IN. She was born February 19, 1940 in Muskegon, MI to Paul and Leona (Bancuk) Baker and lived all of her life here until she moved to South Bend, IN 3 years ago to be closer to her family. She was a graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central High School Class of 1957. She later received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Michigan University and worked as a teacher at Mona Shores School District until retiring in 2002. Jackie was a long-time member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and St. Mary’s in Spring Lake where she sang in the music ministries at both parishes. She was currently a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in South Bend. Jackie was active with the Red Hat Society and the Bunco Club. She loved ice cream, reading and walking at the beach, traveling, and especially working with children. She volunteered her time at Mona Shores Schools many years and also worked part-time with the 4-5 year old preschool. She was an avid fan of MCC Football and attended as many games as possible while she lived here. She was also a fan of Notre Dame Football. Survivors include 2 daughters, Renee (Dennis) VanBergen, Beth (Jeff) Swearingen; 4 grandchildren, Nikki (Jason) Bruemmer, Scott Whitaker, Allyssa Swearingen and David Swearingen; 2 great-grandchildren, Camden Bruemmer and Eli Bruemmer; and the Bancuk Family. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Mass will be planned for Summer of 2021.
